Editing isn’t simply removing clips.
A great edit comes from understanding timing, visual flow, sound design, and how to guide the viewer’s attention.
Step 1
I start by watching through all the footage. While watching the clips, I already visualize parts of the edit in my head.
Step 3
At step three, the edit starts to take shape. All the clips are now in almost the right place.

Step 6
This is an easily overlooked step, but one of the most important ones. Sound design, if done right, can transform atmosphere and turn an okay video into a masterpiece.
step 7
Once the video is around 90% complete, I share it with the client to get feedback and make any adjustments needed to ensure they’re fully satisfied.
Step 2
After watching all the footage, I start by rough cutting and structuring all the footage.

Step 4
Next, I look for spots where 2D motion graphics can enhance the video. Once I’ve decided on those, I plan the animations and then Implement them. I mainly use After Effects, DaVinci Resolve Fusion and sometimes Blender for this.
Step 5
Color grading my favorite parts.
This is where you shape the visual style of the image, giving it a unique character that strongly influences mood of the video.
